Kristian Hedine:
 Kristian E. Hedine feels that every business deserves access to legal services that emulate "in-house counsel" convenience. We are on your desk top instead of down the hall, but the results can be just as effective.
Kris grew up in Walla Walla with his four siblings, the son of a local physician. He attended U of W in Seattle and then University of Kansas School of Law, earning his J.D., Doctor of Jurisprudence, in 1982. Kris has been in private practice since that time, for 15 years with the firm of Reese, Baffney, Schrag & Hedine in Walla Walla, and then as in-house counsel for a telecom startup.
In 2001, Kris founded Virtual In-House Counsel to serve the needs of small business clients with innovative and responsive approaches to the challenges of today's business climate. Today he provides a variety of services in the areas of business formation, contracts, labor and employment issues, estate planning and trusts, working with non-profits and charitable associations, and Real Estate. Kris is also an experienced mediator, offering assistance with business and family law matters.
Kris is admitted in Washington and Oregon. He is active in Washington Employment Lawyers Association and Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys. Kris regularly serves on committees for the Washington State Bar. He volunteers with community foundations and serves on two non-profit boards.
Jared N. Hawkins:
Jared N. Hawkins is a native of Burns, Oregon. He received his law degree in 2004 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, graduating with honors. Shortly after passing the bar in Washington he entered the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate (JAG). As a military attorney he had a diverse practice of law in advising military commanders, service members, and their families on a variety of matters including administrative law, employment law, contracts, environmental law, real property law, landlord/tenant disputes, wills, and criminal justice. Over the course of 6 1/2 years he gained significant litigation experience serving in roles as both a prosecutor/government representative and a defense counsel in administrative proceedings and misdemeanor and felony level courts-martial. Jared joined Virtual In-House Counsel in September 2011.
Jared is admitted to practice law in Washington and has been a member of a number of Washington Bar Association sections (i.e., Environmental & Land Use Law Section; Solo and Small Practice Section; and the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section).
Branden Gradin:
 Branden grew up in a small town in Walla Walla County and joined the Army Reserves while in high school. After graduation from Columbia-Burbank High School in 2004, he left for Basic Training and Military Police school. A year later, he moved to Roswell, New Mexico, and attended the prestigious New Mexico Military Institute, "NMMI", for two years of college and military training. At NMMI, Branden was appointed to serve on the Honor Board, a Board of high ranking cadets who prosecuted, defended, and tried fellow cadets who violated the honor code. With his interest piqued, he began the journey of entering the legal profession. After leaving NMMI, he obtained a certificate in Paralegal Studies, sat for the National Association of Legal Assistant/Paralegal's Certified Paralegal exam, and worked for three years at a law firm that handled insurance and criminal defense for large corporations and government agencies. During that time, Branden gained significant trial and appellate experience in civil litigation, insurance law and civil rights law. He plans on attending law school within the next five years and is constantly looking for new things to learn about the law.
Branden completed his eight year enlistment with the Army Reserves in July 2011 and joined Virtual In-House Counsel as a paralegal in August 2011.
Kathy Hedine:
Kathy joined the staff at Virtual In-House Counsel in 2010. Originally from the Oregon Coast, Kathy has called Walla Walla "home" for the past 28 years. Kathy received training in the medical profession as a phlebotomist, EMT, medical assistant and for the previous 6 years was employed in administration at the Walla Walla VAMC.
Aside from the medical field, she was owner/operator of her own Process Serving company for 10 years and also enjoyed time working in local banking institutions as well. Kathy has two adult sons and she and her husband Kris have one daughter, a Business & Marketing graduate of Western Washington University.With an empty nest at home, Kathy and Kris enjoy traveling, motorcycling, and their involvement in local community events.
